Tata Consultancy Services Announces 1250 New Jobs in Midland, MI

Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., an information technology services and consulting company with global headquarters in Mumbai, India, announced today that it plans to invest $12.5 million to establish a Business Process Service Center in Midland, Michigan. The Center will provide core business services including financial consulting, order processing, information technology and other services. The project will create 500 jobs during its initial phase, with 750 additional jobs expected to be created in subsequent phases.
According to economic analysis by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), the increased economic activity created by the project will create an additional 1,119 indirect jobs, for a total of 2,369 direct and indirect jobs created. Based on the MEDC's recommendation, the Michigan Economic Growth Authority (MEGA) today approved a state tax credit valued at $22.1 million over ten years to encourage the Center's location and expansion in Midland. The Center is also applying for a tax abatement from the City of Midland.
